About This Project

Wellness Vault is a digital health companion that empowers individuals and families to take control of their medical records. Users can scan lab reports using OCR, view insights like trends and abnormalities, and securely store both text and voice records. With the ability to share selected records via QR code or email link, doctors can access comprehensive patient histories—including charts, original reports, transcriptions, and personal notes—on demand. Designed for simplicity and privacy, Wellness Vault bridges the gap between patients and providers, streamlining communication and care continuity.

Technologies we use

Dashboard

Automatically highlights any abnormal lab results and presents clear visual comparisons to previous tests.
Enables users to track changes in key health indicators over time with an intuitive dashboard view.
Allow users control which health profiles are displayed or hidden based on personal preferences

View Records

Stores both lab records and voice notes in one central location, displayed with clear date and time stamps for easy reference
Users can filter records by date range and record type to quickly find what they need
Switch between main user and dependents to manage health records for family members or others under their care

Add New Records

Tap the + button to add a new lab record by capturing a photo, selecting an image from your gallery, or uploading a document.
The uploaded file is scanned using AWS OCR, which extracts key medical data from the lab report.
A preview of the scanned data is displayed for the user to review and confirm before the record is saved.

Laboratory Record Detail

Each laboratory record stores detailed test results along with associated patient and clinic information.
If any values fall outside the normal range, the system automatically generates medical insights to help interpret the results.
A line chart visualises trends over time by comparing values across previously submitted reports.
Users can attach additional files or link a voice recording from a doctor visit for further context and reference.

Voice Recording

Users can start a voice recording directly from the app, speaking into the mic to capture important health-related information.
The system uses AWS voice-to-text to automatically transcribe the recording and save it as a digital copy for future reference.
This feature is particularly useful for recording conversations during doctor visits, helping users remember diagnoses, instructions, or advice.
Users can also record when symptoms occur, creating a time-stamped log that can be reviewed or shared with doctors at future appointments.

Sharing of Records

Users can choose to share health records for either the main account holder or their dependents.
Multiple records can be selected and shared together, with an option to set a time-limited access for enhanced privacy and security.
Once shared, the app generates a unique QR code that doctors can scan for instant access. Alternatively, users can send a secure link via email directly to the doctor

Questionnaires

Users complete standardised questionnaires designed by medical professionals to capture important lifestyle and medical history information.
Topics include lifestyle factors such as tobacco and alcohol use, as well as medical conditions like existing heart problems.
The responses are securely stored and shared alongside lab records to provide doctors with a comprehensive view of the patient’s health.

Shared Health Summary

Doctors accessing the shared link are presented with a consolidated, read-only view of the selected records.
This includes lab report details, auto-generated health insights, line charts that visualise trends over time, and the original report document.
Linked voice recordings are available both as playable audio and as transcribed text, making it easy for doctors to review patient notes or visit conversations.
All shared data is presented clearly and securely, helping doctors make informed decisions with minimal friction
